After your story is submitted and you have received a confirmation email from us your writing will have entered the review process. Our editors look at various stories in an attempt to create a story line that will fit nicely into one publication. How will you know if your story is selected? We will contact you periodically by email to advise on the status of your submission. Please feel free to contact us by emailing speakupmd@gmail.com should you have questions. If your e-mail address changes after you submit your story, be sure to let us know so we can update your information.
If your writing is selected to be published in one of our books, you will be asked to sign our standard permission release agreement. That agreement asks for non-exclusive rights to publish your story. This means that you retain ownership of your story or poem but you grant us the rights to publish it and use it in our Speak Up MD product. We will always notify you by e-mail and request your permission before we print it. This includes any suggested changes our editors make as we never publish anything without written permission from the author.
Upon publication a Certificate of Contribution will be sent to your doorstep and you will be notified in which book series your writing will be featured. As part of your contribution, you will have the option of purchasing various copies at a heavily discounted authors rate for you to share or sell with your friends, family and colleagues. We strive to have the authors rate at cost as the more people hear your stories, the more we can slowly inch towards making sustainable changes in our medical systems.
